The St. Tammany Library Foundation is pleased to announce our 2021 Community Partnership Sponsors: Home Bank Helps-Northshore, Pi Beta Phi Foundation & Louisiana Northshore Alumnae Club and Junior League of Greater Covington.

Home Bank Helps-Northshore is a group of employees of Home Bank, who pool their resources each year and grant funds to deserving Northshore non-profits. The Library Foundation was presented a $1,000 check from Home Bank representative, Ben Strecker, at our annual Christmas luncheon. These funds went toward financing outdoor Wi-Fi at six library branches in St. Tammany Parish. Having outside Wi-Fi has become almost a necessity in this era of Covid and lockdowns.

The Pi Beta Phi Foundation and the Louisiana Northshore Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club granted the Library Foundation two grants, totaling $1,552.50. The local impact grant seeks to fund those organizations that support literacy efforts on the local level. These funds will go toward programs that will target children and adult literacy.

The St. Tammany Library Foundation was recently awarded a Junior League of Greater Covington grant totaling $1,000 for the purchase of several book boxes for use by nursing or assisted living communities and local elderly facilities. These boxes contain book club books, materials and activities that can be used by the elderly who meet to discuss the books. The boxes can be reused and passed around to other facilities.

The Library Foundation is grateful to our community supporters for these generous gifts. These Community Partners will be honored at our Distinguished Speaker Series event featuring author/writer John Ed Bradley, on September 23, 2021 at Tchefuncta Country Club.
